Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

You keep claiming something is illegal and just want things tied up in the courts.

Meanwhile the AMerican people (not just Trump supporters) appreciate finding waste in our system.

You’ve set this up as either it gets done in the exact manner that Trump is doing so or it cannot be done at all. I’m looking for door #3 where we reduce some spending, but do so in a less chaotic manner that risks disrupting the good things were also doing.

Yes - There has definitely been ample amounts of attempts at this and its cute you act like any method of cutting off the spigot on fraud and corruption wouldn't be met with the same level of hysteria.

Oh, I don’t doubt for a second that every elected Dem and all the social media shills on the left will accept no concessions at all. The Democratic Party is just so very, very bad at this. But I don’t think that means that Republicans couldn’t do what they wanted to in a less extreme or chaotic manner. If Trump had just had the proper channels do a full audit of these same things with people sympathetic to his priorities, I think he could do so with even his simple majority in Congress. But he didn’t do that, and that’s *my* main issue. I always knew I’d disagree with spending priorities under Trump.

"proper channels" - You mean a collection of people that are most likely on the take or benefitted from this 'funding' in the past?

It HAS to be an outsider like Musk doing this. Or else nothing would ever get done. Thats the whole point.

It does not need to be the richest man in the world who has entanglements with some of these agencies and causes. There are plenty of perfectly capable auditors in the private sector who support Donald Trump and could just quietly file a report. It being a spectacle isn’t necessary for it to be effective, and I personally abhor the politics of it, an energy I’m happy to find when Dems do some dramatic bull**** like pretend they amended the constitution.

The spectacle is part of the plan to demonstrate the absurdity of it all - It will be an issue in the 26 midterms which is what I said was the whole intention.

Also - 'Auditors', as in the largest professional services firms, have had plenty of entanglements with governemtn agencies and I'd suspect some of that will be brought to light as well in the future.

The only way this gest done correctly/effectively is if someone like Musk is doing it.

Sonetimes you have to rip the bandaid off.

Just call it what it is, prioritizing politics over governance. It’s garbage when Trump does it just as it’s garbage when everyone else does it. All of this work could have been done without the people it’s being done by. I promise it does not take the infinite wisdom of Elon Musk to determine that a bunch of progressive causes were funded by USAID.

I don’t consider slush funds governance. We just disagree on this fundamental issue.

It takes someone like Elon Musk to do it. Because you cant cancel Elon. You can't vote him out of office. And frankly, few if any has his will or motivation to get the job done

You're constant whining is annoying. Who was ij charge of USAID before? Did I vote for that person?

He doesn’t get it. Actually suggesting “proper channels” proves he doesn’t want anything to change. Nobody part of the system will ever change the system.

Nonsene... the topless tranny invited to the WH lawn was great... along with the mentally ill dude running HHS. And the bald guy who dressed like a lady stealing suitcases running our nuclear waste program... and government staffers filming themselves getting railed in the congressional office... and ... and... and...

totally normal!
