Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

(Again)... tariffs have been imposed many times through world history.

Yes - and the economy that has been contrived the past 30-40 years is completely different. The economic gains of tariff policy needs a much longer runway to come to fruition (if it comes at all). Short term evaluations will obviously lead you in one direction.

Interesting little article regarding some of the tariffs that Trump is issuing - If you don't understand the rationale of the tariff policy (has been telegraphed countless times) then you will never get it.

Acting like we have 'free trade' globally and this is just trump making it 'un-fair' is such a naive and simple view that is of course parroted by the wall street publications of the world.

We will have a North American manufacturing powerhouse in the future come hell or high water. Pain is a part of the process unfortunately because of how rigged the current game is but like in Shawshank - We will come out the other side happy as hell.

So you at least accept that Americans are about to feel economic pain with these tax increases, correct?

Can you find one post where I said increased costs in the short term are not part of the process?

And these types of things are countered with reductions in other taxes which I thought you were a fan of?

Then devaluations of currencies of foreign countries against the dollar also impact this in a positive way to the american consumer.

It does make me laugh that people still insist Trump didn't win the 2020 election and that people like Lake weren't robbed multiple times.

A good old public hanging would do the trick for absolute deterrence.

The nerve of this unelected scum.

Can you get a treason charge out of it? Throw a few a 20-year sentence, and it will cut that nonsense out quick.

Yeah. We cant control what dumb socialist and communist countries do, but we do have agency over how we operate.

Is your goal to get other countries to lower their tarrif rates?

My goal is 'free trade' which is not manipulated by slave labor rates and currency manipulation. Then we will see how great America can be

What a tremendous start to Term 2

Umm, if the Courts decide Donald Trump doesn’t wield the power to tell Congress he won’t pay their bills, does it make the government liable for wrongful termination here?

Did cingrsss appropriate this money to go to NYC migrants?

So what you’re saying is there is interpretation as to how funds are spent? Hmmm…

No, what I’m saying is cities were told by the government, “hey do this expensive thing and then we’ll pay you back” and now we’re firing someone for making the payment. If it’s ruled that this is part of the funding freeze that was put on hold, or the Courts eventually decide that this was a lawful use of funds allocated to FEMA for this purpose, the Trump Admin might have just fired four people for refusing to break the law.
