Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Wow - no more international students for Harvard?

Talk about going on offense. No more CcP bribes.
Harvard has one of the biggest endowments in America. This is a first amendment violation by the white house but I know you don't care about that.

Mqt is fine with it as long as it’s way far away.
I’m not though. And, more importantly, my point of contention is not whether or not we should do something to address murder. It’s whether or not immigrants being pro-Palestine is causing murders.

Seems like there’s two on the ledger there today
There’s two on the ledger of murder. I just wouldn’t be willing to attribute those two murders to the presence of pro-Palestinian students in our country generally and would instead blame the murderer directly.

I'm sure the killer absorbed his beliefs without the pro-palestinan movement pushing their poison freely in this country.

Yes - I'm sure we won't find out he attended meetings and protests.
Meetings and protests that would still happen without foreign students because there are actually people born here who organize such things when the need arises.

They would happen far less and with less vigor. But you know that.

Can someone explain to me how making a bunch of students scramble to transfer to a new school this fall is going to benefit me as an American? Will it lower my taxes or make me safer?

It’ll end up shrinking the university and give Americans more opportunity without having to deal with foreign nations filling schools with illicit funds driving up tuition rates.

But no poor old mqt won’t benefit from this and therefore unimportant. But something like helping needy around the world is essential and you were outraged programs were being cut because those things definitely helped you.

I'm not sure how these things work at Harvard. But at most American universities there is an implicit transfer from international students (most of whom pay full freight) to domestic students (most of whom pay a discounted rate).

Man, I simply don’t care which way the Ivy League shuffle goes each term. If Harvard admits more domestic students and Yale admits more international students as a result, I don’t think my life is going to improve any actually.
