Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

I happen to have a close relative who has lived there the past three years. She loves it. Describes it as "a civilized version of New York," which she also loved.

Guess the drastic rise police reports and reported crime against women is a non-factor.

We'll see how much laughing is involved when the Muslim population reaches 20-30% in the West.

These idiots are in a for a rude awakening.

There isn't an example anywhere in the world this works except if there is a ruthless dictator with all the power.

What can I say. I visited a couple years ago. Spent lots of time using public transportation. Felt as safe as back in the day 25 years ago when used to spend a lot of time there for work. London has had a large South Asian (many Muslims) population for a long time now. It kind of amuses me that y'all think this is something new.

Again - data be damned.

The most threatening dude I encountered was on the train from the airport. He kept muttering "wanker" while make a hand gesture mimmicking masturbation. I don't know what his issue was. His ethnicity did not seem relevant, but will be happy to share it if y'all have a need to know.

Violent crime in London is lower than in England and Wales as a whole.

The homicide rate in 2025 is on track to be the lowest in over 70 years of record-keeping.

The homicide rate in London is one quarter of the homicide rate in New York City, which itself is lower than the homicide rate in rural America.

Yeah - Those areas are overun even more by the Horde.

Pretend that rape didn't spike at exctly the time that the Muslim population spiked. Its a figment of everyones imagination based on European crime data.

Rape would be included in the violent crime rate data. What the violent crime rate data show is London has a lower incidence of violent crime than the rest of England and Wales.

Always happy to have a data-based discussion with a fellow board member renowned for his sophisticated appreciation of data.

WHO ARE COMMITTING THE CRIMES? Specifically, rape....

I don't have that data. If you do please share.

Immigrants make up 41% of London's population. Immigrants make up 17% of the population of England and Wales. And London has a lower violent crime rate than England and Wales.

It is an interesting thang. Even more interesting is that London is on track to have its lowest homicide rate in 2025 in over 70 years. At a time when its immigrant population and its Muslim population are larger than ever.

I can only say that what I have observed and what my daughter tells me is that it is a safe and wonderful city. Greatly enhanced by its diversity. You can always find something sensational on social media that contradicts that. But it isn't the lived experience of Londoners.
