I think Babbit is a relatively reasonable comparison here, except that the ICE officer that shot her acted more carelessly than the one who shot Babbit. Both victims put themselves in danger through their actions. My only complaints in the Minnesota case are that the officers appeared to have escalated things too much and that the officer who fired the shot had ample opportunity to make a safer choice.

I don’t think immigration officials should be in a position to police road obstructions, and the officers acted in a way that led to the situation being more dangerous than it needed to be by surrounding her vehicle, including from the front. I’m not calling it cold-blooded murder, but this is some shitty policing from people who shouldn’t be policing citizens.

Wife and mother was out screaming and impeding ICE per her governors and mayors instructions, and want home mothering. A needless death but one with any awareness of law enforcement community was needless on her own accord. She put herself there and drove at an officer. Period.

You have every right to drive on a public road in america unless it's been closed for a reason that's acceptable. ICE is not that reason.
Babbitt was part of an angry mob descending on the capital. For every reason you can say the officer in that scenario reacted, he reacted to someone who didn't belong there, someone who could have been viewed as a threat (how was he to know she wasn't armed or when she got through someone wouldn't pass her a weapon etc.) an overreaction carried some form of threat to it. As opposed to based on eyewitness accounts, ICE trying to get a woman out of her car and her trying to escape said scenario.
I would equate the latter to if someone walked up to my car and tried to forcibly open the door shoudl I just let them or get out?
