I'd be surprised if the courts allow this.
Even with a conservative majority in congress and the SC, I don't see this getting through. And I am not sure that I want it to.

For as pro-migrant as I am, this actually feels right to me as long as it doesn’t impact the children of legal permanent residents. I’ve never understood the idea that you can have a child as a non-resident and have that child be a legal citizen. I hope if this is enacted that hospitals have protections against the government to care for pregnant migrants and their children without the risk of deportation for the patients, though. With how integrated hospitals are into the birth certificate process, I could easily see an issue here.
Sure sure - we will just play by the rules while your side breaks every norm in the book after they steal election. Screw you and your fake outrage. We win and will continue to win and fix this country.
There will be no care for illegals. All incentives will be stripped and self deportation will begin en masse.

This is what Trump has been setting up for a while. Accuse the other side of every bad thing in the book so your side accepts doing it back to them. I dont think he even does it consciously. But anyone who studies history knows where that stuff leads. Fortunately our system has so far been strong enough to keep him from breaking it.

Exactly. I know it wont end well for him. Thats why I want him to do it. I saw 4 years of his supporters just foaming at the mouth about how once they got into power it was going to be raining indictments as his second presidency was all about revenge. He might try. His aides will tell him how bad of an idea that is. He will insist. Call Googliani for support. Then his aides will call his stable pony aka Ivanka to talk him out of it. Maybe he gets enough yes men around him to try. I doubt it. Many of these people I actively dislike so I would both enjoy them inconvenienced and seeing Trump fail and the political backlash from it.

Seriously though - What is the left going to say when there is nothing authoritarian about Trumps term (I wish there would be some pieces though!
