This is essentially what I was told MAGA was supposed to be: a meritocracy where the hardest workers should be allowed to thrive in a market free from the government stepping in to make poor American companies hire less qualified workers based on identity. Weird how that changes when it’s white people and “culture” that are in question.

If I remember correctly this is actually just a cultural difference and we needn’t concern ourselves with the past. If white children want to get ahead, they should stop blaming others and outcompete them. We shouldn’t be making excuses for them due to any prior socioeconomic or educational disadvantages. Hell, we even just made a white guy the President so there couldn’t possibly be any discrimination.
 
I think making a white guy president was kind of a clever consolation prize to aggrieved native-born folks. Meanwhile the rest of us can carry on with our lives and keeping America great. Maga will probably not notice. If Kamala had been elected the resentments would have just boiled over. Let them have some symbolic trappings to keep the peace.
 
The bright side as someone with student loans is that we’re only one fleeting Trump thought away from a MAGA push to help the white college students saddled with expensive engineering degrees that can’t find jobs due to Indian people. I might be closer to student loan forgiveness than ever!

Its an opinion piece and they are calling on Democrats to object based on Trump being ineligible. The Supreme Court did rule that its Congress who enacts that clause in the 14th amendment. And they acknowledge this is mostly symbolic and not going to change the outcome.
