What do you think happens to China’s influence globally if we start taking sovereign land by force? And for that matter, what does it even matter what China would be willing to do if we’re doing it preemptively?
Weren’t you one who’s said China is intentionally taking advantage of a weakened America under Joe Biden the past 4 years? China wouldn’t care we were taking land, but they’d certainly capitalize on America suddenly becoming explicitly imperialist again.
If America becomes the explicit aggressor by threatening its allies, China will come in and be their ally. We can’t fear monger about China if we’re planning on becoming an expansionist power again. That’s the literal reason to worry about China, so why would other countries continue to care if America shows it’ll just do that instead?
What you don't understand is these 'allies' are becoming more beholden to the CCP every single day.
And who is our ally? The UK who incarcerates people for speaking their mind online?
I think not. The old power structure is broken and we should not try to recreate that.

Look, if America can purchase Greenland from Denmark without coercion, I’m not going to cry about it. If we can gain more control of the Panama Canal the same way, fine. It’s not going to help with the national debt I was told was a crisis, but governments spend money on things all the time. But none of the places Trump is suggesting we need to control are for sale. This argument is predicated on the current situation and if we do in fact take any land by force, it will not be acceptable. I simply don’t think it’s good that many seem to not agree with that last part based on their public statements.
Oh I never said we aren't going to use our economic might to do it. We will take control of these areas (never should have given away the Panama Canal) without firing a single shot.
Talk about Canada is just Trump trolling to divert the media to another shiny object and keep them guessing. Its quite effective actually.
