Society is more complicated than that. I’d argue the causes are much different than changing gender roles.

It’s not subservience. It’s gratitude for the amazing world we built for everyone. This world couldn’t have been done without women functioning in their traditional roles.
Why are the subset of married women who stay home happy still?
Because those who willingly choose to stay at home and are financially secure enough to be able to are probably pretty cool with their life.

Why are successful single unmarried women still unhappy?
Not all stay at home women are in wealthy families.
I’d love to see the data on stay at home moms.
Anecdotally, I have seen a lot of stay at home women have mental health struggles. I’m not sure I’d accept at face value that they are happier than working moms.
all women are less happy than they previously were. I would take an educated guess that stay at home moms are questioning their choice because society is beating into their heads that they are not real women and the grass is greener in the 8-5 cubicle
The absolute hilarious takes from thethe and sturg are just that hilarious.
I mean I guess they're a little sad too. But I guess we need to give thme props for finally going full mask off on mysogeny.
Says the guy who wooodd drop his wife for tits on a stick.

actually you'd be surprised at what low female labor force pariticipation rates are correlated with
thangs like poor economic outcomes (low growth rates) and poor levels of educational attainment and of course high poverty and other idicia of social dysfynction
I won't claim causality...but that does seem to run in both directions (low female labor force participation contributes to those outcomes and they in turn contribute to low female labor force participation)
plus cultural factors contribute to both (both low female labor force participation and those poor outcomes)
And SSRIs are convincing women who are otherwise miserable that life is fine
Making an otherwise miserable person not miserable is an unexpectedly strong argument in favor of SSRIs from you.
