Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

It’s much more one sided than your ilk would care to admit

I don’t think the Left does it less, but the President of United States and many of his closest advisors generally spend a good portion of their day on the attack against the left, let alone the people on the right. What I see from the right a lot is directing that anger on classes of people, be that immigrants or young people or federal workers or criminals. I think sometimes that gets presented as being less personal or vitriolic, but I think it’s had the effect of amplifying that vitriol to be applied to normal folks, much like the left has done with say rural voters.

The left does it to everyone who doesn’t agree with them 100%

That’s the major difference I see.

The right is made up of a lot of people who don’t and won’t agree on everything and it’s fine. Conservative people get it.

I think the sensation L also sees a lot of flat truth as vitriol because they don’t like the truth

When the Devil/Evil shows itself (trans ideology is one of hte biggest manifestations of that) people will gravitate more towards the Light.

Hard to share a country with so many morons.

Have to hope we have the next 12 years minimum to fix the education system.

Once Trump beat the Marxists for good we can go back to loving this country.

Have to use this good will to radically change the election system so 2020 can never happen again.

I think the “purity test” politics of the left is a major issue for the party, and I’ve seen some smart Dems like Obama express this publicly. The left needs to understand that you don’t have to abandon your social positions to find common ground with people on other issues and make change.

EVen if this is true (it's Charlie Kirk, I'm dubious on this) I think it's laughable that Jeffrey Bezos would care about free markets. He literally runs a monopoly.

I look forward to an opinion page dedicated to free markets pushing back on Trump’s tariffs and other harmful interventions in the economy

Thats great conversation to be had as opposed to Marxist filth that was produced by the paper and so much of the MSM the lsat 20 years.

Not opposed to that discussion at all - I just think you guys are wrong. But you guys have the easier boogeyman argument. "YOUR COSTS WILL GO UP!"

What's worrisome are all of these tariffs are going in effect at the same time.

How is Amazon a monopoly lol

Try to compete with amazon on e-commerce. It's nearly impossible. Amazon also is a single stream business that has it's ecommerce, AWS, studios, prime video, games studio, etc.

They're a monopoly. Denying it is silly. Look at all the companies that could have potentially been competitors they bought out. Zappos was a growing shoe online retailer, bought it out. Goodreads is a growing social media market to recommend books, bought it out (as well as it's previous competitor Shelfari) so on so forth.

If you don't think AMazon is a monopoly, that's fine. But everything they do is anti-competitive. Including Bezos buying WaPo to turn into his own news media rag.
