Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Tracking is the tracking - You are free to disagree with published data all you want.

Egg prices will go down. According to my sales rep it will be 4 to 6 weeks before the easing happens. And that's based on information that could change like another bird flu outbreak.

Egg prices down? That's news to me. Was at Walmart yesterday and all eggs were still over 6 dollars unless you bought bulk.

Sysco eggs are still over 100 per case.

Gas prices are still around 3 a gallon around here.

Eggs 4$ a dozen home grown , gas still around 2.51- 2.55

Americans costs will go down ALOT even with Tariffs (which won't increase the cost of goods to the level people make it out to be).

I've have not met one person that complained about their Teslas

I know a few. Granted I don't know that many people with Teslas (The roads up here would eat them alive) but quite a few had odd fit and finish issues like door panels not quite aligning correctly, etc.

Again, wish you the best, hope it doesn't suck. I don't know a person who has a Tesla and swears allegiance to it like an iPhone, but then again I rarely know anyone who's like that with cars anymore anyway. I guess except truck people, they usually stick with a specific truck forever.

I think this may have been the first few iterations with Tesla which is to be expected with a relatively new car make.

I know quite a few Tesla owners through work and they all love it.

Maybe your sales rep needs to see the updated data - Which you are right is subject to volatility

Based on what I'm seeing it seems like while the top line figure is pretty much the same the Trump admin will have more control on the outflows since the courts determined that services already rendered needed to be paid but seemingly quiet on new expenditures.

Seems like there might be a surplus at the end of this 6 month period.

That's good. I don't want you to buy a bad car. I don't really care what you buy. Tesla always struck as a better tech than a car. I'm skeptical that htey could last with all the salt up here. But I'm sure it's possible. It feels to me for where I live like more of a Summer car.

Plus they don't have enough leg room for me ideally. It's why I'm probably going Hyundai Santa Fe.

I'm also not sold on the electrical charging apparatus in America. Tesla's real range is almost 100M shorter, especially in the winter than the advertised range. So if something can supposedly give me 300 miles it probably really can give me 200 miles. When I go to NJ it's about 400 miles, so basically I would need to stop at least twice on the way down as I'm assuming the 200 mile claim for 15 minute charge is basically charging it to 66%. So each charge would get me about 135 miles.

I'm just not sold. If I go for an electricish, I'd go for plug in hybrid. Enough range to get me to work and back without using gas. But when I make long trips I can use gas and stop less.

I'm also just not fully sold that all electric really is that much better for the environment. I have internal debates between if ti's better than a hybrid because I can see the arguments for both. And if we had more renewable energy sources I really could see the arguement for all electric. But I know wer'e not there or really close to that so I don't see the need now what's the difference between me running my engine or my power company burning fuel? Not that much.

That's why I'm probably going with a Hybrid for my next car. I lucked into my escape where I got 0% financing at the beginning of the pandemic before the used car market went tits up so I'm one of only people in the history of cars who's never been upside down on my laon. Ford's been trying to get me to trade in for ages because they know they can sell my car for a healthy dime and getting me on interest is better for ford. But **** that noise.

I'm going to sit a year without a payment and put some cash away. Then go back into the market. Santa Fe and Elantra on the top of my list. Even if the Mustang Mach E is sexy as hell, I have no desire to go into all electric.

I can see the argument from either side on safe win or loss but naturally I'll take the MAGA side and continue that we are going to rule for a geneartion.

2026 midterms will be a blowout.

Cannot stop - This is one of the defining issues of our age. Must push back with all fervor against the trans cult ideology.

And Massies objection led to Trump teaming up.with Liz Cheney to get him kicked out of congress (luckily they failed)

So funny - You'll end up eating even more crow in 2026.

Just get ready for it like I told you to get ready for it the last time.

Seem to be quiet on the DOE draw down - I would expect you to be thrilled at something liek that but well you know....TDS
