I have a crazy idea that the best way to stop fraudulent spending is to not authorize the dollars in the first place

I have this crazy idea that when you out the people that have robbed the country blind and show it to the American people in front of their faces that will be the only way for lasting change.

Taking a "principled" approach to spending is grandstanding and unpractical despite the fact Republicans having a majority. If they wanted to cut spending, Democrats can't stop them.

Continuing Biden level spending is a choice, not a compromise.
 
An alternative for shunning Massie for doing the "principled" thing is to pressure congress to cut spending and threaten to primary any dissenting Republicans that vote against spending cuts.

Exactly this. “We had to do this because we got to a point where this was the best of the bad options” is truly a nonsense argument. (R) is the majority party and has the political capital to use. Punting was a choice.

He’s batting close to 1.000 on education related issues.

That’s the frustrating thing about Trump…he could piece together a very good term if he focused on the right issues. Instead, as feared, he’s committing a massive unforced error by carrying out a deranged trade war.
