Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Trump isn't trying to do that so this a red herring to avoid answering the question - The reason you're doing that because your answer is effectively an impossible hurdle to ensure that people at scale are deported as the AMerican people voted for.
If Trump is not trying to imprison people in a Salvadoran mega prison, he’s incompetent then because all he had to do was not make deals with El Salvador to do precisely that, then send Stephen Miller on tv for two straight weeks to screech about how it’s good that we’re sending terrorists to prison (without due process).

So is your dear leader incompetent or a liar?

Because the standard is now "whatever the American people voted for, we get to do, by any means necessary, disregarding the Constitution. Unless I decide that what the American people voted for takes some money from some American pockets and moves it to other pockets. That, not the Constitution, is now the new standard to decide how much power the executive branch should have in carrying out the will of the people!"

This is deranged. I miss 57.

The American people didn't vote specifically for getting illegals deported?

That is the take you are going to move forward with?

The Constitution isn't the perfect docuemtn and when drawn up, with subsequent amendments, there wasn't an idea that a president would actually open up the doors for an invasion. You know this but will be 'willfully obtuse' about it.

No he didn’t, because he’s in prison as a terrorist despite not being convicted of a crime associated with being a terrorist. The end.

He is a clear member of a terrorist organization - Ergo, he is a terrorist. The end.

The amusing thing if Trump jsut deported him to El Salvador he would have been thrown in prison immediately.

Yes, they voted for a candidate who promised to deport illegals, among a host of other issues.

We are still governed by a Constitution. Winning an election does not mean you get to carry out your agenda by any means necessary. That's never been the case in the 250 year history of this country.

I can't believe this needs to be said in a discussion between what I presume is a group of educated adults.

Wait, you don’t remember that time Obama brought in a bunch of health insurance and hospital CEOs and executed them one at a time until they agreed to make healthcare affordable?

Did anyone drafting the consutituion or prior to 1950 ever think they'd have to address an issue where the president actively facilitated and encouraged 10-15M illegals to bypass our immigration system and remain in the country?

When you have time please answer my question about what due process should be afforded to all illegals that have been here the last 4 years as long as they are deported back to their home country.

Andrew McCarthy has been so off base on so many issues the past few years. But he appeals to the 'principled' people that would be happy to just watch the country go to shit as long as 'norms' are upheld.

The ones given in the 5th and 14th amendment

Ok then - play that out.

How much time should an indvidual get? How many delays? What burden of proof needs to be held.

Who do you think the 14th amendment was attempting to address?

'two people familiar with the matter'

Awesome - Sounds familiar to a lot of what we have seen as sources in the Trump era.
I felt a little nostalgia reading it because now it’s usually just Trump and his team saying the stupid or illegal shit out loud.
