Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Trump and team slapping a fee on the H1-B1 visas.

Now not only protecting low skilled blue collar labor he is also helping the low skilled white collar laborers keep their jobs.

I kind of admire how the Trump Administration’s solution to every economic problem in America seems to be making it more expensive to operate a business.

This policy is going to result in median wages going up for Americans. Hard to imagine how an American could be upset at that especially since prices haven’t risen this far as has been predicted by the health care experts….

These tears online for immigration softies is amazing. Oh no we can’t undercut American workers with Indians working at 75 cents to the dollar!

There are ways to improve wages that don’t include paying the government an extra pile of cash to employ people.

I’m not weeping for the H1B workers or the program. But this term has basically been a series of solutions to genuine problems that just involve American businesses giving the federal government more money. You used to care about that when it was regulations and taxes.

The idea is the government doesn’t make money on that program. It becomes about truly intelligent people enriching our country.

Not great! Not illegal for Trump to do, but still not great.

Some of this looks really bad for James. Are you telling me you can't indict someone for this?

This is way worse than anything in Trump's fraud case. Read the documents here. This isn't some clerical error or mistake.

I can’t really speak to why this US Attorney would be hesitant or struggling to bring charges against James, but given he took a job with the Trump Administration a few months ago and was apparently assigned to specifically charge James in this case, I’m not willing to blindly trust it isn’t more complicated than some open and shut case.

They signed a loan together stating they were husband and wife and it was never changed. They committed fraud. However, it happened 40 years ago so there very well could be statute of limitations issues.

Fine by me. But an EO has no staying power
We’ve got to shift the Overton window and ensure we get a transition to 48. Once American wages go up they’ll never allow for this disaster to come back.

But yes, we need laws to stop theee things for good.
