Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Yeah, it’s crazy what you can accomplish when you don’t let minor details like we aren’t at war with that country get in the way of doing acts of war against the people of that country.
A country that sends us criminals and drugs seems to be at war with its people.

I’d also just like to take a moment and marvel at the audacity of a government that is carrying out (and gleefully posting videos of!) bombings of alleged drug runners outside of US waters and also crying bloody murder every time someone calls them fascists. This is quite literally them using the growing popularity of some key aspects of fascism amongst their base to their political advantage. They’re trying to solve the drug epidemic in America via murdering people not even within our borders for the again, alleged crime of drug smuggling and using the already horrifyingly abusive terrorism laws we have in place to justify them.

I do not mourn the deaths of Cartel members, and I don’t even really doubt that most of those affected by our blatantly illegal actions here are not people who society will particularly miss the contributions of. It’s still fucking morally wrong, we shouldn’t do it and the only reason they’re getting away with it is because we are using our status as the global superpower to bully the world into accepting it. Just like Bush and his drone strikes or Obama and his drone strikes or Trump and his drone strikes or Biden and his drone strikes… We do not have the right to play judge, jury and executioner just because these aren’t American citizens. The world would be a lot better place if we just impeached every President the moment they use military force against a non-immediate threat without congressional approval.

Is everyone surviving while our $5T government isn't operating?
I have an anecdote. A co-worker told me her husband (who is in the Air Force) was scheduled to fly to Australia for a six-month assignment yesterday. But the impasse in Washington has put that on hold. However, all is not lost. The Air Force will continue to pay for his unoccupied apartment in Australia.

Friend of mine in the Army just got back from vacation in Mexico. Second day back he just had to go in to sign a paper saying he wont do any work then go home until the shutdown is over.
