Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

I actually can’t remember the last time I used a coin to buy something.

I don’t even think the car was I go to accepts them anymore. If not the car wash, then who???

My car wash gives change in dollar coins. It's so fucking annoying. One thing that sketches me out is using cards on vending machine things. Because I had my card skimmed at one many many years ago. So I try to avoid it when I can, or use ones that are tap because I believe that's harder to fake the credit proces.s

Trump and team are ushering a new era of leaders of men.

Not the leaders of trans crazies and lonely single cat ladies.
The thing that really annoys me about Pete Hegseth is that there’s actually a lot of things he does and says that is a refreshing change of pace for the military. Going in and giving an energetic speech to a bunch of kids after a football game to celebrate them like this is kind of rad and should happen more. Jumping in and doing PT with soldiers or any of that is cool and engaging. Talking to them less formally and more excitedly is great leadership.

Which is what makes it so gosh darn frustrating that he chooses to spend so much of his time complaining about DEI hires (aka people who signed up to fight for his military and sacrificed just like every other service member) or advocating for the return of shitty treatment or making it harder to report your CO for misconduct or bitching about every thing the military itself has gotten wrong. He’s pro-war fighter insofar as he wants to cheer them on, but not be their advocate.

I want the head of the military to rail on things that make our armies weaker. Allowing mentally ill or fat people to serve is a bad idea and it’s great he is cleaning this shit up.

But those people didn’t make the standards or top-level priorities. I don’t think it’s pro-war fighter to take it out on the people who signed up to fight for their country in the manner in which he has. They were told the manner in which they could serve the mission and did it to the best of their abilities. We could easily celebrate their service while implementing any needed reforms to military policy.

And new standards are formed ther have to be met. Just because the autopen regime and Obama wanted to destroy our fighting capabilities doesn’t mean we have sit there and let it continue.

You’re missing the point. Just do that without the personal attacks on service members performing the roles they were given orders to perform. And maybe show a little respect and compassion for these people who went through all the same shitty things the other soldiers did before the military changed leadership.

Those with little lady emotions can leave or toughen up. Based on recent reports enrollment is up because we are acting like men again

There’s really no point in the current structure of the National Guard if a President can just demand a state’s guard be activated domestically in another state against the will of their Governor.
I agree with Gavin here

But once again, Democrats have put themselves in an impossible position by letting their cities deteriorate to this point. Challenging Trump on process just isn’t all that appealing to your average voter.

And any bone they throw to their own law enforcement to fix the problem is met with stiff resistance from the crazies who want to defund the police and to abolish ICE which is an absolute loser platform

People act like Trump is a fascist but in reality the left has left us with no choice.
