But these are all examples of people rushing to judgement in the absence of evidence following some event that happened. Once the facts came in, people abandoned Smollett and stopped caring about Wallace’s stall. Instead what thethe expects of me here is to take a very well investigated and reported on event and come to a conclusion that isn’t drawn from that evidence.

Even if you grant that we should arrest and deport everyone, I don’t believe it logically follows that we must do so by any means necessary like we’re on a manhunt for a murderer.

It’s not naive to believe that a rich pseudo-celebrity was assaulted by some racist thugs because it’s nearly unmatched psychopathic behavior for someone in his situation to pay people to beat the shit out of him for publicity.

It’s not naive to look at one noose pulley in the most unfortunate possible stall amongst a sea of other non-noose pulleys and think something racist might have happened.

It’s perhaps naive to believe the Sandmann kid was racist over a video of him smiling silently, I’ll give you that one.

Plenty of racism exists in reality. There’s a reason that we’re still talking about Jussie Smollet and Bubba Wallace in 2025 and it’s because sensational hoaxes of racism aren’t particularly common.
