Well I'm sure happy for you. I'm still not getting a paycheck working 45-60 hours a week in a public safety role. Glad I just sold a house to keep my family afloat for a while because it doesn't seem to be resolved anytime soon.Well. Not yet
Im sorry you are experiencing that as a government workerWell I'm sure happy for you. I'm still not getting a paycheck working 45-60 hours a week in a public safety role. Glad I just sold a house to keep my family afloat for a while because it doesn't seem to be resolved anytime soon.
Guess it depends on how long it takes for public safety folks to just stop coming to work.Im sorry you are experiencing that as a government worker
Im wondering when it will begin affecting the public it serves?

In the off chance a tornado is heading towards your house and the San Antonio NWS office is not working, then you will never know it. Or similar weather hazards. I don't know how you expect me to talk about other federal departments which I don't work for. I know air traffic controllers not showing up have caused major problems in past shut downs and there have been some hiccups thus far. IIn all sincerity, which federal service is keeping me safe in San Antonio, TX
Yeah, we put stuff aside but had to take all those savings to front our move costs from my promotion and we just bought a new house in our new location. I won't get reimbursed for those promotional move costs until the government opens back up so our savings are a bit depleted. Again, we are in good shape though as we also just sold our old house. We wanted to add that money to the down payment we already made on the new house but will have to just wait until the government opens back up at this point. Good for your neighbors I guess... not all federal workers are equally able to save as much.A neighbor couple are both federal employees who are working for free at the moment. I asked how they were last night and he wasn’t concerned, said that they know this is likely to happen every few years so they keep enough set aside to cover operating costs for six months now. He said it’s easy to do when you know you have two federal pensions coming your way.
Not many not in government work have noticed
Wish those guys would get paid - but they will.
Probably be cool if democrats didn’t tie their pay to health covg subsidies
Didn’t say you didI don't think I ever cast blame in my post
