A person with a lengthy history of violent crime receiving a harsher sentence for violently assaulting someone for doing their job than a kid who might have been texting and driving is actually something I’d accept as just.

Do you genuinely think a person who was potentially guilty of driving while distracted one time is a greater threat to society than a man who has repeatedly committed violent crimes and broke a man’s spine through his deliberate actions? The uncle is the exact type of person you’ve been trying to lock away forever.
