Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Sure

Hit by a car is a pretty big deal
I’m not in a position to deny his injuries, but being hit by a small portion of a car that had just started moving would likely cause less extreme injuries than one might sustain from what we picture when someone being hit by a car. That he walked away seemingly unscathed supports the idea that he wasn’t severely injured, but I’m not making any definitive statements here. Just acknowledging that DHS has been very good at saying shit that is later refuted by the evidence available.

You.... you realize that's a general phrase that's been used throughout history right?

Nazi's also saluted Hitler. I guess we should stop our soliders from saluting their officers too...
I already pointed out I’m not actually claiming it’s a Nazi slogan or a dog whistle, I’m arguing the federal government is wrong to respond in such a gross and juvenile manner.

There will be a lot of unintentional overlap with Nazi slogans because they’re both heavily nationalist movements that focus on highlighting the invasion of outsiders. It doesn’t make them the Nazis, but a lot of people will have things to read into because of the overlapping messaging tropes.

Ok, you go stand in the way of an angry lesbian screaming at you like a crazy person and see how you take it. I’d bet good money you wouldn’t

What his injuries actually were is irrelevant.

What they could have been is very relevant

Then why did you blatantly share the tweet about Nazi Germany if you didn't agree it? Quite clearly you believed there is some veracity to it.

I think outright dismissing the possibility that he sustained a serious injury is dumb but taking DHS’s word for it that he did is also dumb. DHS has been quite unreliable and sensational in their accounts of what is happening.
What does it matter?

This is literally like the Trump ear thing again. Just how much of an injury the agent sustained is completely irrelevant.

The woman drove directly into the agent. Had she not died, she would have gone to jail for vehicular assault and it would have been an open and shut case. Plain and simple. Whether or not the agent had time to move or whether or not she was scared and didn't intend to hurt him is irrelevant. The moment she gunned it in the direction of the agent, it was vehicular assault, and any agent/LEO would be justified in their actions.

That’s generally been my position here, though. She acted recklessly and it was not unreasonable for the officer to have been fearful, so I’ve not been calling this a cold-blooded murder by the officer. I do think his lack of either training or awareness made the situation less safe and helped contribute to her death, but I’ve been pretty at odds with those pushing both extremes of this.

What’s his training and awareness like ?

Au coutraire.

Reasonable suspension is 100% enough to DETAIN anyone. I would be willing to bet that it what they meant instead.
They say arrest, you're jumping through hoops on what you think they meant to said when they clearly tweeted arrest.

In the example of the law, say I'm walking my dog, a DHS cunt comes to me and demands to see my id. I don't have it because I'm walking my dog. And They arrest me. That's a clear violation of the 4th amendment. Even if all they do is force me to return to my house to get my ID to show them.
