I actually think Trump and the GOP deserve credit for reducing the growth of spending.Anyone want to comment on how the OBBB results in lower budget deficits?

Has spending been reduced or have revenues increased? This year they have the tarrif revenue vs last year they did notAnyone want to comment on how the OBBB results in lower budget deficits?
Was this how it was billed when certain member of congress were fighting it? I think the idea is thta it would blow the deficit much higher. That just hasn't happened.Has spending been reduced or have revenues increased? This year they have the tarrif revenue vs last year they did not
Im not being snarky. Im glad the deficit is being reduced but if its purely because of i creased tax revenue, that is not the optimal way to do it.Was this how it was billed when certain member of congress were fighting it? Isn't it fair to ask the question why didn't governemnt expenditures go up in the manner that we were led to believe?Im not being snarky. Im glad the deficit is being reduced but if its purely because of i creased tax revenue, that is not the optimal way to do it.
Im asking what the actual numbers are. I dont know.Isn't it fair to ask the question why didn't governemnt expenditures go up in the manner that we were led to believe?

My bet is spending is higher and tax revenue is higher, with the YoY benefit of tariff revenue being the reason of a reduced deficit.
If im wrong, ill be quite happy

When the entire fiscal year ends and it shows the deficit not growing.![]()
Senate's tax bill will add $270 billion to the deficit next year, despite gimmicks
The House-passed version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act was fiscally irresponsible. The Senate has made the bill worse.reason.com
"Even using the math—even using the formulas—that the supporters of the bill like, the deficit will still grow by $270 billion next year," Paul said. "That's just not good if you profess to be fiscally conservative."

Baseline tariffs are continuing - Even on nations that have agreed to terms. They aren't going anywhere so its a bit aggressive to call it a seasonal good guy. When the entire fiscal year ends and it shows the deficit not growing.
Quarter 1 was a seasonal good guy for revenues due to tariffs showing up
First 6 months of last fiscal year did not have tariffsBaseline tariffs are continuing - Even on nations that have agreed to terms. They aren't going anywhere so its a bit aggressive to call it a seasonal good guy.
Thats irrelevant - OBBB passed and it was sadi it would blow through the existing deficit. That did not happen. Tariffs were also party of the picture whil eit was being passed so you can't argue it was unforseen in this proclamations by RandFirst 6 months of last fiscal year did not have tariffs
We wont have a reasonable YoY comparison until Q3
So are they not spending the money that was approved in the OBBB?Thats irrelevant - OBBB passed and it was sadi it would blow through the existing deficit. That did not happen. Did I repeatedly say that appropriations <> Spend? So are they not spending the money that was approved in the OBBB?
If you have the spending data than post it. That was my original questionDid I repeatedly say that appropriations <> Spend?
