Seditious Conspiracy--Calling All Legal Eagles

Ah, well good to know Trump was never President thanks to this brilliant insurance plan that consisted of nothing illegal.

Just because a plan fails doesn't mean it didn't happen. Yeah, using the dossier without even vetting it was perfectly okay.

Oh really. We are in agreement on that then. I just dont view leaking the existence of a legitimate investigation the same as physically trying to stop the counting of the certified ballots. The equivalent to me would be someone leaking that there was an investigation of election fraud by Bidens campaign. I certainly wouldnt consider anything wrong with that if there actually was an investigation of Bidens campaign going on by the FBI.

A very bold argument from you for this particular thread.

What plan failed? They didn't go through with anything. They didn't even bring guns to the capital. They weren't arrested until early 2022 so it's not like they were stopped.

It is worth noting that Mullah Omar never touched a gun. It remains an interesting precedent in the seditious conspiracy case law.

A federal jury on Tuesday convicted Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes of seditious conspiracy for leading a months-long plot to unleash political violence to prevent the inauguration of President Biden, culminating in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

The panel of seven men and five women deliberated for three days before finding Rhodes and a co-defendant guilty of conspiring to oppose by force the lawful transition of presidential power. Rhodes and all four co-defendants on trial were also convicted of obstructing Congress as it met to confirm the results of the 2020 election. Both offenses are punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
