But did you read the whole article? 1000's of females are killed annually this way and mostly by their own family.
I'm quite aware... have Pakistani friends in real life that tell me it goes down like that.
It's the worst of extremist religion.
Even the girls here in USA and Canada, are required to marry before 30 and marry a male (usually Paki) that makes a lot of income. They don't get killed here though if they follow otherwise. At worst I think their parents send them to live with the relatives in Paki in a more conservative arrangement.
