Shane Greene to Atl being reported

I do wonder what it would cost from a prospect standpoint. Astros didnt give up Tucker or Whitley, so something like Wilson, Muller, Contreras, and Tarnok. Thats pretty steep. Maybe even more.

DBacks got 2 50's, a 45, and a 35+

Comparable Braves offer would be Wilson, Contreras, Wentz (including him because he was the only true 45 player the Braves had that could be traded), and Jeremy Walker. Assuming that the Braves were going to take on the same amount of cash.

Heard a Greene interview today. He actually flew out of Detroit last night and is in Atlanta already, so he's good to go tonight.

How did Greene sound?? Is he happy to in Atl and playing for a contender?? some are saying he wasn't happy leaving the Tigers dugout.

Martin is available, and they're hoping they can get Melancon/Greene there today as well. At worst, they should be there by Friday. Given how taxed the pen is after the Nats series, gonna need them.

Where was this morsel of knowledge prior to the trade being reported by national reporters? Bowman and DOB always make these big shows of vast inside knowledge, but they are proven either wrong or ignorant far too often to believe any of it.

I don’t remember which but one of the beat writers did tweet out that they didn’t know the exact return being discussed but Jackson was a name that kept coming up. So they obviously heard something

Thank god.

Snitker's usage of Swarzak and Jackson the past few days was disgusting. Any word on if Melancon and Martin will be activated and ready?

Martin is ready for tonight. They're hoping Melancon is too with Greene. Swarzak and Jackson are probably unavailable after Snit overused them the last 2 days.

I heard/read after the trade that when AA was asked who would be our closer now he responded, "I'll leave that up to Snitker to decide." Please tell me that is lip service. Greene has to be our closer, or at the very least the first person to go to and let him ride out that role as long as he's successful? Snit can't be stupid enough to share the closer's role between Greene and Jackson? Please, someone tell me?

I heard them say that early on during the broadcast yesterday talking irt AA leaving the closer role between Luke and Martin up to Snit. That was before we acquired Greene.

Melancon, Greene, and Martin are all better closing options than Luke at this point.

I think Greene and Martin are. Not sure about Melancon, although he’s pitched very well the last month. When I say not sure, I mean I’m genuinely not sure.

I’m starting to really dislike Jackson, but his peripheral numbers suggest he’s been very unlucky. However, at a certain point you can’t ignore what’s happening out there, lucky or not.

I want to clarify that I'm not against Luke Jackson being on this team.

I think he'll be fine as a middle reliever/long man like he was previously. I just think it's crazy the amount of right that can't go wrong that has to happen when he's in the game. Unlucky or not, can't have that bad juju in the 9th anymore if we can help it. We now have 3 guys with closing/high leverage experience to give a chance to see if they are gonna take it and run with it.
