Newcomb's getting a little wild this inning.
Didn't finish well, but has done plenty to give us more to be confident about.
Tucker's done all he needed to do by now as well IMO. He's arguably been our best scrap-heap pickup in a while.

loved the phillies announcer saying "I wish he would have run the bases in stead of watching the ball..." if i'm not mistaken, earlier in the at bat there was a FB high and in
As a rule 5 selective, what do we do with Gomez? Has to stat on active roster for 90 days or go back to Yanks.
Gomez gives up 3 straight doubles
90 Days? I thought it was the whole season. Is that new?
Given how little worried I am about Labies and Acuna, there isn’t a more important player on the team than Swanson. If he rebounds from his miserable first year and lives up to his prospect hype, we have five legitimate All star quality regulars in Acuna, Albies, Freeman, Inciarte, and Freeman. That’s an amazing core that would be under control for a long time.
Besides that, Swanson still is the hometown Georgia suburban kid and we all know that’s the image the Braves wanted with their white flight move.
You said Freeman twice, lol.
I don't see him becoming an all star caliber player, but perhaps he becomes a good complimentary player.
Gomez continues the 5th with a lead off HR, then 2 BBs, then is replaced by Barreda
I use the term all star loosely. Generally I view anyone capable of a 4 WAR season as all star caliber. Dansby, if he cuts down on the errors, is a good defender and he provides good base running value, so it really is up to his offensive ability. He’s shown the ability to draw walks, so that also helps.
For me, it comes down to his power. If he’s merely a singles hitter like he was last year then I don’t think he’s anything more than 2 WAR guy. He seems like the type of guy that would really benefit from a hitting coach that really worked with him on his launch angle.
Ouch. He was intriguing early in ST.
Swanson probably needs to make consistent hard contact vs breaking balls before he worries about altering his launch angle.
