This is the best possible outcome but the season is lost either way. Weiss is not going to lead them on a huge run.He 100% needs to go but it may not be all on AA, McGuirk has been around a long time and the good Ol boys club runs deep in Atlanta. I don't see them firing him out of loyalty for the past 40 years but he needs to go. If I was Snit I would step down.

I can't disagree with any of this good post. I think that's why Fredi was brought in 100%.McGuirk is a business man, not originally a baseball guy. He was in the AOL/TW division before the Braves were spunoff, then came on-board after Kasten left.
I think McGuirk and AA have played this close to the chest. You couldn't fire Snit after the 2022-2023 seasons because it was too recent from the World Series and the offense in 2023 was record breaking.
2024 s a lifeline with all the injuries.
2025 they basically are trying to paint the luxury tax thing as to why they weren't more aggressive, but also because they know Snit is not the long term guy here. Spend enough so the casual fans think you're doing something. The battery and attendance is still pretty decent this season. So I have no doubt that they've been trying to just get past this season with just a bit more than the bare minimum.
Snit can be used as the scapegoat.
Fredi is the interim policy. If Snit steps down, Fredi takes over because of his past experience. If the team goes on a run then he's still not going to get the full-time position, and if the team continues to sink then most fans will probably check out after the All-Star game.
I think they're content with a wild card or barely missing the playoffs. Come into the offseason fresh, and reload with new money to spend.
Schumaker would be on my lists of candidates too. He's a senior advisor with the Rangers so they'd have to give you permission to talk to him.Do something unorthodox. Call skip Schumaker and see if wants to be the interim. Haven't ever saw anything like this, but why not? It's not like football where you need time to learn new offenses and defenses.
Dang, thought he was unemployedSchumaker would be on my lists of candidates too. He's a senior advisor with the Rangers so they'd have to give you permission to talk to him.
Bochy's deal is up at the end of this year so the rumor is he'll take over the manager job in Texas then.Dang, thought he was unemployed
