So, I've been away for a while in the South Pacific

If the Mets decide to blow it up and rebuild Ces would be another potential target.

I think DeGrom too.

Edit: We would control him for his final two arbitration years before free agency. He's not the type of pitcher you extend, so basically you buy two years of his peak and let walk. If the Mets fall out he would be among the first to be moved IMO given his age and injury history.

As I've said for years, if the Braves have to spend the resources to acquire a pitcher like deGrom, the rebuild pretty much failed and they won't be good enough for the addition to matter.

If the Braves can't produce a home grown rotation on the verge of the Top 10 after spending such significant player acquisition resources on arms, they don't have enough resources to buy one and still field a contending team.

If it costs 4.5 years of Dansby, 6 years of Gohara, and 6.5 years of Soroka, along with still decent pieces in Allard and Fried, just to get a half year of Machado and 3.5 years of Bundy, holy crap.

Soroka wasn't in my deal.

Braves also get a leverage reliever and shed 11 million dollars of Teheran's contract in 2019.

I honestly might do that. But I'm not a big Dansby guy or a Gohara guy.

I don't mind cashing in a maybe pitching prospect for a pretty proven starter with control.

Well, you mentioned that Soroka might be a necessary component. I just can’t possibly imagine it would take all that. I’m pretty confident the surplus value would show us to be massive losers.

Conforto would be a guy I'd look hard at. LH bat who I think is pretty good. About to go into ARB years.

Trading the the division seems unlikely. But the Mets do not seem to be sold on him. He could be a good LF for us for 3 years if we are on a budget. I'd trade Fried for him.

Good call on Conforto. The Mets seemly refuse to give him a job.
