So who plays RF?

I believe that if BJ bunted every time, he would hit more than .200. I don't understand why he hardly ever tried to utilize his speed. I have a feeling we're stuck with him.

I keep seeing "short term" and "bridge the gap" but to what? We have absolutely no OF prospects. I thought the Braves Way was building your team from the inside but we're going to have to fill in free agents everywhere if we expect to "compete" in 2017.

One of the reasons we traded LaStella for extra international picks. It's gonna take time but it will happen.

2017 isn't far away. Are those international picks(that we haven't signed) all going to be able to play CF, 3B and RF by then? Seems to be we have put ourselves in a really horrible position. A catcher in LF, BJ in CF, and Justin who we financially can't keep is an interesting gamble. Some would say reckless...

I think that's why the Braves had so many scouts on hand to watch Moncada. If they want to rebuild by 2017 they will need to get some near-MLB impact OF talent in the organization in very short order. Guys like Tomas and Moncada could potentially provide exactly that, and they are the only real chance the Braves have at acquiring that type of talent in the required timeframe.

JUp and/or Gattis isn't going to bring back a young OFer since no team would trade a young impact OF talent for another OFer or a DH. The Braves don't really have anything else that any other team would want. So I say, bring on the Cubans!

Nope....didn't say they would. I'm saying that the process for building the minor leagues has begun. Picking up Jenkins is also a part of that. Again, it will take time to get the minors filled up. In the mean time, maybe we can deal Justin for a couple of hitters and maybe even Gattis.
 
Seriously, I think we'll be looking high and low for short-term OF fixes. It's probably going to be a revolving door out there for the next couple of seasons with the possible exception occurring if J. Upton is signed to a long-term deal.

I was never that big a fan of Kelly Johnson, but I think he's someone we should take a look at. Can play 3 positions where we look a little light right now (2B, 3B, OF) plus he's a LHH. Could be a solid 300 AB guy.

Then I'm confused. How can it take some time when Hart has made it pretty clear he wants to compete in 2017? Seems like we don't have much time to get those replacements in our system.
