So You Want To Emulate Success...

So you're saying in order to get to the World Series you either rank #1 or #26 in 97+ MPH fastballs thrown? If you want to win the NL East you should try to rank #25 in that category, but if you want the NL Central you should rank #3? If you want to win an AL division you should try to rank in the middle?

Wait, I thought we wanted to play the Braves way and develop a bunch of crappy hitters, but supplement them with crappy starting pitchers?

Can't really read it due to the size of the attachment, but is the heading "pitches greater than 97 mph?"

Sorry...thought it would get bigger if you clicked on it.

97+ MPH Fastballs

1.) KC - 2287
2.) Miami - 1124
3.) St. Louis - 1066

7.) Braves - 874

You got it - that's exactly what I said troll.

Interesting data. All I can say about KC is "Wow!" But then there about 4 guys in their bullpen who throw that hard regularly as well as Ventura in the rotation. I'm just surprised at the gap between KC and the rest of baseball.

The burning question for me is who the Twin was.

Could be Perkins as Niners says, but he usually doesn't throw that hard. Could have been Trevor May or Michael Tonkin. Perkins is probably the best bet.

It does show how the Twins worship "pitch to contact" and how that strategy has not worked for them. They are acquiring and developing harder throwers and it will be interesting to see how the new manager approaches the pitching staff. Both Kelly and Gardenhire were absolute "pitch to contact" guys.

How is he a troll here? What you posted means absolutely zero. Braves are 7th... okay... the team who just won the WS was 26th. Guess you're upset you posted a pointless graphic.

Yea, unfortunately I think he had a point with saying this graphic doesn't tell much
