Sobotka has an arm. But he needs another year in the minors. Maybe in the second half of next year.
Pen 2019 is shaping up like this:
4 Righties: Viz, O'Day, Winkler with Carle and Jackson battling it out for the last spot (I think Carle has options left)
4 Lefties: Minter, Venters, Biddle and Freeman
Sobotka will be part of some very good depth in AAA in all likelihood.
I agree, but it needs to be pointed out that it takes 10-12 relief pitchers at a minimum... probably more. There is plenty of room for all of these guys, and a few more rotating up and down as needed.
