Some Red County/Blue County Indicia

The second most red county in America is Borden County, also of Texas.

It gave very poorly chosen one 95.43% of its vote. Population decline over the past four decades: 27%.

Do you believe that population decline is a signal of an unhealthy situation?

Of course. Generally speaking people vote with their feet by moving to places that provide opportunities and an attractive standard of living. San Francisco should be concerned about so many people leaving.

Staying in Texas, very poorly chosen one's next best county in 2020 was King County, where he received 94.95% of the vote. Population decline in the past four decades: 38%.

In contrast, the three counties in Texas that credibly accused creepy joe did best in were Travis (71.41%), El Paso (66.66%) and Presidio (65.99%). Population growth in those 3 counties in the past four decades: 209%, 80% and 18%.

MASSIVE POPULATION IN roberts!

The reddest counties tend to be very small very rural with big population losses. Generally speaking (looking at all counties) those that voted blue in 2020 have faster population growth than the red counties, much more vibrant economies (accounting for 70% of the country's GDP), much more diversity, significantly higher levels of educational attainment.

It was a huge loss when the Johnsons moved to Dallas. I’m glad we have this thread to capture this sad event.

Did you guys know that urban areas have more population growth than rural ones?

Genuinely shocking. Thank you for investigating this very important issue.

1,636 counties lost population in the 2010s, about one-third of all counties. very poorly chosen one won 90% of those counties.

It is a shocking thang. And urban areas are more densely populated.

What’s crazy that rural communities that have depended on farming and manufacturing jobs have gotten smaller as farming and manufacturing have been outsourced. You would think those people would just start tech companies.
