As anyone who has read the document knows, it specifies punishment for a very small number of crimes. For the rest punishment is determined by laws and the judicial system. I know occasionally the question is asked about consequences for doing something unconstitutional or illegal. The constitution is mostly silent on this and the answer is to be found is in the legal code and judicial interpretations of the code.

Is also a constantly changing document that's meaning depends on who holds the majority. Take abortion. We would constantly be releasing and imprisoning politicians based on what the most recent interpretation is.
