Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

Believe it or not many people in blue states live in rural areas. They ain't dying off as fast as they used to.

You have nothing comparable to the Dakotas, Idaho, Alaska, etc..

You brag a lot about California but it has the highest poverty rate in America. What gives?

After what we've seen with the lying about the the "greatness" of the Biden economy and what we know about leftist nature are you sure what you believe about the blue states is true? I know I'm not sure that the blue state stats are true.

The states with the highest poverty rates are Mississippi, Louisiana and West Virginia. But if y'all want to go on clinging to your beliefs be my guest.

You didn't read the article.

California has more people below the poverty line than most other states because they have more people than other states.

Their poverty rate (which was what you said they lead in) is 11.4% according to that article, and nationwide average (according to that article) is 11.5%.

What the rate they claim off of is SPM which is not just Poverty rate but factors in other things like COL etc. Part of the issue with that is that it doesn't accurately reflect poverty. To use my example in NJ. You could live on a large variety of incomes depending on where you are. My family was middle class. But had they lived in a different part of the state we would not have been able to afford the house, family cars, etc.

Using my example of where I live. Housing went stupid. I can get a decent house here around 300-400K but go closer to ski areas and those prices double. I also have more access to food options with multiple grocery stores, etc. than the people who'd live farther away so if they live farther away they spend more money to get groceries, more money on their houses, etc.

The census isn't diving in that deep to consider the difference in NYC to consider what borough you live in. It's much different living in battery park in Manhattan than mid island Staten Island for example.

lol. Yes, I read the article.

Just because you don't agree with SPM doesn't make it wrong. As the article says the Census Bureau adopted it because it is more realistic.

SPM factors in cost of living which makes it superior to older methods.

I love this idea that you pretend Silicon Valley became Silicon Valley under the current conditions of Californias political environment.

It’s a cute sleight of hand.

Sure both NY and California have economic dynamos that developed decades ago. If you were paying attention I've been discussing the fact that basic metrics like life expectancy, real per capita GDP and homicide rates not only look much better in blue states but that the GAP has been WIDENING BIGLY in recent years.

Obviously in an era of increasing globalization the areas that had the infrastructure will benefit disproportionately. The thing is that I know you’re aware of this. It’s just a continuation of your morally and intellectually bankrupt arguments.

George Wallace once said "make it so low even the cows get it." Useful advice for posting around here. But I can only go so low. If y'all want to believe that California leads the country in poverty rates I wouldn't want to spoil your fun.
