The former has nothing to do with Lesbian firefighters and for the latter, please show me a person who died because they got stuck in a burning house and couldn’t be rescued due to the firefighter.

I cannot, but likewise you have still not shown me how DEI in the LA fire department had anything to do with the destruction caused by a massive wildfire, something that has been on the rise all across the world in red areas and blue areas and pretty much always requires a larger effort than the local government to control.

This still has actually nothing to do with Lesbians being firefighters. My point is I can blindly cede a lot of ground on mismanagement in California without it changing the fact that DEI in the fire department was not the cause of this natural disaster.

As for the water portion, this is actually a good example of why sometimes nuance matters. I neither think that Los Angeles could have properly prepared for the type of weather conditions that led to the spread of the fires just as I don’t think a more highly staffed NOAA would have saved these kids. It’s not that I think we should absolve the government of its responsibility to effectively prepare for natural disasters such as forest management or weather forecasting, but it’s also really easy to find the one thing that points to the other side fucking everything up when in reality sometimes the Earth just swallows us up.
