Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

this is what its like arguing with our academic..

sturg: man, the 2025 Braves are performing terribly

nsacpi: actually, the Colorado rockies are a lot worse

sturg: erm, yeah sure. But the Braves are supposed to be good and are dreadful

nsacpi: The Braves have made the playoffs 8 straight seasons. they have the most wins of anyone in baseball. the teams from Florida cannot say the same, can they?

sturg: erm, yes but they are trending horribly down and I'm not sure next year looks better

nsacpi: the Braves won 15 straight divisions in the 90's... nobody else in the league can ever say that. let me know when the Florida teams can say the same

sturg: skip college, kiddos

Imagine letting a dude who just stabbed his mom back on the streets

Blue city shitholes

This is an area where some give and take between the two sides could lead to common sense compromises. If we stopped over-prosecuting non-violent crimes and drug offenses and moved some resources toward social services funding for things like beds in mental health facilities and non-emergency interventions, we could also maintain some of these bail reforms while cracking down on violent crime, particularly among recidivists. Hypothetically if bail had been set for some high dollar amount and he had drug money to get out, would we really be any safer? I say no, but it’s a positive for a person to not have to pay money to get out of jail for a minor offense and still go to work the next day instead of being fired.
