WHY do dems want push to get killers back on the street
This isn’t some plot by Dems to keep killers on the loose, and there are actual reasons to not want the government to simply imprison all the crazy people. I don’t support this particular verdict, but that’s not why the laws are on the books.

I think there’s certain cases where it is reasonable: say an undiagnosed and isolated schizophrenic person goes crazy and kills someone because the voices told them to. I don’t think that person deserves to simply rot in prison forever. I wouldn’t let them right back out on the street, but I wouldn’t think life in prison is the right answer either.

I don’t think it should be applied in the manner in which it was here.
