Soroka to DL; Freid up from Gwinnett

You do see more starting pitchers getting put on the DL with it being changed to 10 days. Instead of bumping a guy or skipping a start you DL them and they still only miss one start.

Tomorrow could be interesting...

Wisler's turn in Gwinnett tonight if he's not scratched. Gohara, Fried, and Anibal not stretched out enough to be good options (haven't even seen whether Sanchez is even throwing).

Allard's turn is tomorrow on regular rest, and the big club's site still lists tomorrow's starter as TBD.

Just sayin...

Wouldn't Julio be on normal rest Saturday?

Wisler is pitching tonight.

Correct - that's why I said that if he's not scratched, Allard might have just had his initials changed to TBD.

They pretty much shocked everyone when the suddenly promoted Soroka, what's to keep them from doing it again?

Besides the fact that they have 2 MLB pitchers on full rest ready to go?

Nothing.

All of this recent starter turnover has the makings of a big (potential) trade. With 7-9 solid starting pitcher options and 3 (Soroka and Newcomb and Gohara (with literally a second-helping of risk for him)) having very high ceilings, the Braves are well-positioned to turn some pitching depth into something better on the left side of the infield, the bullpen, and maybe even at C. World Series baby!

good first post...welcome to the boards

And crap, sort of. No way they trade Dansby now. He just bought Varsity hot dogs for 900 people at the Battery.

I guess I could live with a trade for Machado (for 3B), plus a negotiating window, with the plan to move Riley to LF and Acuna to RF. That would do alright.
