Let’s not go crazy yet. Exploratory surgery just means the doctors want to get a better look. As long as nothing more than a minor cleanup is needed he shouldn’t be set back too far.

I mean, sure. But he obviously can’t be counted on at this point. Even if he were back, best case is probably July at this point.

Honestly, at this point, it's best to assume that we won't see Soroka this season. If he does come back, that's gravy

TINSAPP. Soroka is proof there is no predicting injuries for pitchers. He has an easy delivery and threw less pitches than most. Meant nothing at the end of the day.

Losing him for the year sucks (and we have to assume that's what's happening at this point), but having him miss a year where he'd be running bases periodically and standing at home plate with a bat 2-3 times per start may not be the worst thing for his long term health.

It's also not a given that Snitker wouldn't use him as a pinch runner on his off days.

We don’t have to assume he’s done for the year. Let’s at least get the results of the surgery before we freak out.

That’s fair enough. Best case is this bumps him back about 3 weeks so it’s not great regardless.

Edit: Probably 6 weeks actually. Three for the leg to recover and 3 more once he restarts his throwing program. This is of course assuming they find no issues.
