Soroka

I really hope Michael can come back strong but man, I just can't get myself to believe in his comeback.

I believe. The arm hasn't been the issue...so im optimistic.

That guy suppressed HRs at an impressive rate. Really would love to see him back out there.

I liked watching he and Brandon Beachy pitch the most out of the non big 3 I think.

so everytime I see a soroka thread, I really expect to see a tiwter embed on how he broke a toe, or tore an ass tendon... something that basically ends his season.

i know right. I had surgery on my Achilles two days before New Years {3 months almost). I can tell you..I wouldn't wish that on an enemy necessarily. My Dr. Referenced Mike and warned me not to try to outdo the recovery because no one had beat it yet. I now understand what he went through so I empathize with him.

That said...setbacks are a thing but his arm should be sound. I'm anxious but expecting little early.

BTW Matt..I don't joke about tendons anymore...lol.

I have a business connection who works in finance for Liberty Media. He's a check-writer, so pretty high-level, and part of his area of responsibility includes the Braves. Over the years I've known him, he's told me ... basically jack about the Braves, except for about a week and a half warning that Freddie was almost certainly gone. Before Spring Training, he told me that the Braves are much higher on Grissom and Soroka than they are letting on publicly. Today, he told me both are still true. Now, this is basically just office gossip, albeit highly placed, but it does my homer-fan heart good.

Did he tell you this at the Honeybaked Ham Co.?

I love the idea of snagging Soroka on an extremely team friendly deal.. He is 25 still.. you could dangle a 5/6 year deal in the Ozzie range and probably get him..

I think we still control him for this year plus 2 more. buy out 2-3 years of FA for pretty cheap. Risky since he is always hurt, but if he pitches the first half with no leg issues, then I would roll the dice.

Soft injuries tend to linger. So yeah, I don't have much confidence in Soroka pitching more than 100 innings this year, and honestly I'm not sure he'll get to that mark.

He seemed to struggle pretty bad last year in AAA. No knock on him, after 2 years off, of course he is going to be rusty. Breaking camp with the big league team was always a long shot. I'm plenty okay putting him back in AAA for a few months to get back in the swing of things

I don't see anyway he can be on opening day roster. He hasn't thrown a pitch in spring yet and wouldn't be close to ready. He needs quality innings in AAA before even thinking of MLB again.
