Wonder what Bauer would even cost. You're basically paying for 1 month of him, and take on his prorated salary (he makes $17.5 million this year).

Yes since they traded for him last year. Teams can't do it if they acquire the player during his final season (So the Braves couldnt offer it to him if they trade for him) or if the player has already had it offered (like Ozuna).
 
I don't know how you can give up anything of value for a pure rental this "season." If you can get Bauer to agree to a one-year extension, OK, but he's not going to want to do that, and then you're talking about giving up something for one month from a starting pitcher and then an even crapshootier postseason than ever. If the price is low enough, OK, but I don't think the Reds are just going to give Bauer away.

Give them the equivalent of the QO they would get plus the salary relief should get it done.

Would love Lynn since he has a great deal for next year as well. If normal season, he's around 10-11 mil, he signed for like 3-30. I dont know prospect wise, what he'd cost. Bauer would be great but i dont know if AA would pay a premium for what, like 1-2 months of him lol.

Maybe in free agency, i dont know if i want to pay a premium for him and he walks, and we get nothing back. I guess if the Reds dont think they can retain him, and it wont take a large offer, ok, but i have doubts on that.

Bauer will not cost a premium for 1 month. Let's not fool ourselves. Anything over what the draft compensation would be will get it done if you take the rest of the salary.

So how high are you talking in a trade?

Like Wilson and Wiegel? Wright and filler? Newk or Touki with filler? Doubt Waters is in discussion.
