Spring Training 2015

This lefty is all over the place, now behind 3-1 to KJ too.

KJ flew out and not deep but both EY Jr. and Jace Peterson both tagged and moved up to second and third.

Gomes is now 0-2 as he pops out. It is up to Bello now with two outs.

Bello flies out after a pretty decent battle and fouling off multiple pitches with a full count.

Veras not having a good start, came in wild and throwing balls all over the place. Walks two batters and a single and three run homer makes it 7-2 Mets.

I remember a note that the one strike he threw had some mid-90s juice, but I don’t recall the exact quote.

Yea, I wasn't listening closely but I heard the same and thought I heard them say one pitch was 94 mph too. But hitting 94 mph is nothing new for Veras of course.

Veras got charged 5 runs against today but I wouldn't worry about that. He's one of those who has such a track record that a poor ST shouldn't be the sole deciding factor on him making the team (kinda like Varvaro regularly had poor ST with us but still made the team due to his regular season track record, etc). Capps on the other hand has a lot to prove, IMO.

Ok, I heard he was up to 94 with his sinker, from 92 last year.

Oh okay, well I recall his velocity was down a bit with the Cubs but later in the season with Houston back up again. But I am not sure what he averaged overall for last year.

Good AB by Hunter vs the lefty, worked him to a full count and fouled off a 3-2 pitch before walking on a pitch inside.

Cunningham strikeouts his first ST AB, one out. Reyes follows with a clean single so now 1st and 2nd with one out.

KJ hits into a DP to end the threat, inning over.
