Spring Training 2015

I'm telling you guys. Fredi is primed to shine this year. Will have a managerial season we'll be talking about for years when we win the division. Bobby has encouraged him to get ejected more.

He didn't throw with the same confidence in the second inning for some reason. Maybe the first one freaked him out a bit. Cuz he was nasty.
yeah. That first inning had me ready for the minor league season. It's going to fun watching our top 15 prospects for a change.

He was just letting the new guy know that the skipper has his back. And look, it worked:

"Miller thought the pitch was a strike and he views what Gonzalez did as a sign of 'sticking up for our team.'
'It might have been borderline, but the strike zone in the top of the first, it was a strike to what he was calling -- what we thought, as a team,' Miller said. 'As pitchers and hitters, we're just looking for consistency. If the manager doesn't like it, he's going to let them know about it. That's what he did. You want a manager who will stick up for you.' "

Fredi is clearly in the best managerial shape of his life.

Pretty much a no-lose move by Fredi. You make a big show of demonstrating to the new guy that you're going to fight for him, and all it costs you is the right to manage an utterly meaningless March 12 spring training game.

He looked hot though.....not just annoyed, so that made me wonder if something else was going on. But yes...a no-lose.

Listening to the Tigers game. Callaspo has misplayed (another) ball at 2B for an error. Folty getting hit pretty hard, and a bird just got obliterated by a foul ball. Eventful first frame so far.

Scouting report proved true as Folty exits in the first inning. He has a live arm (95-98), but command & secondary stuff is lacking

The battle for the rotation seems to be tilted towards the veterans right now.

Does Callaspo have the yips or is he just this bad at 2B?

Coffey in for Foltynewicz with three in and two down in the first.

Honestly, this is what we should have expected. This team is young and raw, and will be a throwback to the late 80's.

Both games going rough in the 1st inning. Weird to watch the Braves struggle in such an obvious display of inexperience.

Damn both of our young pitchers, Folty and Manny B got rocked, neither getting out of the 1st inning. And Callaspo sucks.

So...does Kelly Johnson have a chance at making the team? Do all the veterans have a better shot at the half way point in ST? It's been interesting so far.

can he pitch? Or hit? Or field? If so he has a shot.

Its pretty bad, all these guys fighting for a job and we still are losing.
