Spring Training 2015

Folks, Russell is getting absolutely demolished. High 80s to low 90s but missing the corners and leaving pitches up. 2 hrs, 2 2bs, a single, a walk thru an inning plus.
 
Russell gives up another hit and run and hits his pitch count after just 1 and 2/3. Yikes. We'll see if they continue to stretch him out. Just one outing I guess, so they probably will.

Maybe Cody Martin will piggyback with Wandy tomorrow?
 
So I guess I'm late on this and not really paying attention, but what's the deal with Toscano. I figured he'd be with the MLB club this spring.

I keep seeing his name on the game roster, but I was under the impression he wasn't even in camp.
 
Good news and bad news for Viz tonight, velocity looks good but bad news is that he cannot find the plate (and not getting the close calls either now).

AJ just got tossed after the last ball call for Viz. It was a strike but Viz didn't get it likely due to all the wildness.

PS: Mac got a good chuckle out of the situation with the ump and AJ.

Had a good spring outside of tonight though. Although tonight has been a disaster.

He had looked pretty good outside of his first outing besides tonight. I like him as long as he's healthy. The main thing for Viz is health and is his velocity back and so far that seems the case.

That said, I could see him starting out in AAA this year since he has an option left. It likely depends on how he does rest of ST and probably how Kohn, Veras and co. do too.

He doesn't have his visa yet, so can't travel to US. I think the Cuban guys get their visas through Haiti in many cases and it can be pretty unpredictable. It's another wild card in the Braves pursuit of Olivera for sure.
 
I think Hart might need to get on the horn and go out and get him a RH bat off the bench. I guess Terdo could be that guy, not sure of his splits. But seems like we have some good LH options in Young, KJ and Callaspo.

Would love to trade Callaspo for a RH pinch hitter.
