No, that would have actually burned some calories.
That depends on how much "stamina" he has.

This absolutely astonishes me. Range is about the same, but (and this might be the other context in which I can type this with a straight face) Johnson is a better fielder. Granted, Johnson at his worst at the plate (.251 BA in 2011) is worse than Callaspo at his best, (.288, also in 2011) but that’s about the strongest argument you can make.
I can’t even conceive of a scenario where Callaspo is likely to bounce back even to what CJ was last year, and I fully expect at least something of an improvement from CJ.
Don’t mean to sound dickish here, I’m just trying to see the argument.
I am not really interested in defending Callaspo anymore after hearing about his history of domestic violence. So this is just for information purposes only, Callaspo is bad at second base as you know but at third base Callaspo has been mostly good unlike CJ. And their range at third isn't rated about the same (see Callaspo's fangraph's page here for his range numbers). Callaspo has consistently showed good range at third in the Majors while CJ is one of the worst in that area at third (see CJ's fangraph's page here for his range numbers). Chris Johnson has a -38.2 RngR and -60 DRS for his career at third while Callaspo has a 16.7 RngR and 11 DRS for his career at third.
That said, I thought most fans issue with Callaspo was more his history of domestic violence off the field. Personally, I could care less whether we keep him or not as I don't particularly like him or CJ for that matter. I have never liked the idea of playing Callaspo at second because he is pretty terrible there. The only use he has is at the corner infield spots, so basically third base.
At this point, I'm more worried about his continued history of domestic violence on the field.
I agree, KJ is the only one with power in that mix. I would think they'd want the possibility of some kind of power on the bench. But they are moving in a supposed different direction.
I was thinking about postcoital buffet wrecking.
I hear that's how Aaron and Jen Harang met.
I agree with many that given the direction the new leadership team embarked upon during the off-season, signing Callaspo was a little odd (as was signing Markakis). As a player, I've always thought Callaspo is alright. Switch-hitter. Some position flexibility. $3 million is a little steep for him given the team's short and long term needs and his current level of ability, BUT when you realize that we are set to pay Chris Johnson twice as much for 2015 (with an escalating cost in future seasons), the Callaspo deal by comparison isn't that horrid.
Don't get me wrong - I definitely prefer the OBP/contact/speed route the organization seems to be moving towards - but if it's a choice between the Callaspo we've seen thus far and KJ, I'd much prefer KJ.
@DOBrienAJC: #Braves now have Wandy penciled in for 4th starter spot. Fredi indicated other candidates now competing for one spot, the 5th spot

Good. I think Wandy has a much better game than Stultz... not saying he won't make the 5th spot, though. Either way, I'm happy with... Teheran, Minor (When healthy?), Miller, Wandy, Wood.
