Spring Training 2015

I think folks really need to get their head around that this offense is very likely to be horrid.

I've read 1,000 posts saying "if so and so does this and if so and so does that, we won't be bad!"

I would keep expectations extremely low

I don't think it will be awful. It won't be amazing. We don't have Mike Trout and Albert Pujols hitting 3-4 but we aren't going to be the worst in my opinion. But hey, time will tell.

I don't know if they will be horrid, but I agree the offense is a giant question mark. Contact rate should be better, but there's not a lot of power and still not as much speed as I think is needed if you are designing a "contact-driven" offense.

Zorro! A fox so cunning and free. Zorro! He makes the sign of the "Z."

Career .720 OPS vs righties is not that bad. Agree on the defense. I would prefer a platoon, but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Gomes hit .165 with a .510 OPS vs righties last year. Plus the career numbers are based more on power which has been declining for him too. He also won't be playing in Cincy this year like in past years to boost them back up.

I agree. However, a signing of Olivera could improve the offense quite a bit. It would give Freeman at least some protection too.
