Spring Training 2015

My God, arguing about Eric Young Jr. and whateverhisfirstnameis Ciriaco? This season is starting on a depressing note.

This is ST, there are bound to be disagreements both big and small with regard to these roster moves. But as bad as our roster looks on offense (and outfield defense for that matter) I can see it being depressing.

We cannot focus on the bright side (Jace Peterson pretty much) all the time. :)

I think possible improvements at the plate for Simmons and Bethancourt are pretty bright also.

Is it too late to designate Phil Gosselin our

Did y'all hear Kevin Seitzer interview during the game today on ESPN when he talks about Freeman and his lack of protection in the line-up?

It's worth a listen (Seitzer discusses Freeman after discussing Simmons):

Liked that.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- James Russell and Josh Outman came to Spring Training with definite reasons to believe they would begin the upcoming season in Atlanta's bullpen. But the struggles these two left-handers have experienced over the past couple weeks have simply added to the many Opening Day roster decisions the Braves still have to make.

Though the Braves could choose to keep both Russell and Outman, they also have the option to release either, and then pay them what would amount to approximately a quarter of their salary for the upcoming season.
Russell, who gained a $2.4 million salary via arbitration, would be paid approximately $606,250 if he is released before Opening Day. Outman, who signed a one-year $925,000 deal in January, would receive approximately $231,250.

I love that I know who wrote the article halfway through the first sentence. I hope we cut Fat Albert too

This is the first time a coach for the Braves other than Roger has sounded like he knew what he was talking about since the end of 2010. Nice to hear.

I was really impressed with that. Everything sounded good, particularly his thoughts on Andrelton's balance.

Here's Bowman's first sentence on the bullpen composition:

"LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- James Russell and Josh Outman came to Spring Training with definite reasons to believe they would begin the upcoming season in Atlanta's bullpen."

Y'all bunch of whiners. Somebody tells you truth and you can't take it. Still butthurt over trading an underacheiving RFer. I think I figured it out. Those of you that can't accept the 2015 Braves were not fans prior to the '90s. You can't handle losing, which by the way is not going to happen with this team. All I can tell you is take some grow up pills. You need them!!!

I'm sure you'll be as gracious if proven wrong as you were when right about the team's playoff prospects last year, huh?

That's what's golden about your schtick, though--if you harp on things that are intangible and unquantifiable, you never really have to admit being wrong.

And, for the love of Bobby Cox, could YOU get off the Heyward thing? He was my favorite Brave and I wish him well, but I'm excited to see Shelby Miller do well this year. You're harping on the supposed inability to get over JHey way more than anyone is actually talking about him. Of course, you're about 85% troll, so I guess I'm not surprised. You got me to play, so gg, I guess.
