Spring Training Gamethread/Discussion

Apparently Freddie didn't see Medlen moving his arm before he ran off the mound because he was in the dugout reading a Baseball America prospects handbook...can't make this stuff up

What does it matter if Freeman wasn't paying attention to the game?

Um he gets paid to pay attention to everything that happens on the field to make decesions?

Bobby never missed a thing when he was here, you can argue or question some of his decesions, but he was invested in every pitch...every play.

Just saw the Medlen injury. Boy that didn't look good at all.

If he's lost for the year Wren needs to get on the phones and make a trade. I don't want Garcia or Floyd in the rotation all year. Of course who could you get at this point that would help overcome the loss of Medlen? Just really hope it was an overreaction on Medlen's part and the injury isn't as bad as it looked.

Let's at least wait until April 1st b4 we start wanting to burn Fredi's house down.

So you'd rather have a pitcher for 1/2 years then extend Freddie, Simmons, etc.

Yeah maybe a pitcher who could help this team get over the hump. This group hasn't won a damn a thing. Locking all of these guys up isn't exactly improving the team.

This group hasn't hit their prime yet, chances are they all are going to get better. Locking them up was a great move on Wren's part. 3 years from now the team will be better off for it. I want an ace too but where were we going to get one? Price was the only one on the market and the Rays still haven't traded him.

Ervin Santana situation at 5:40 ET: # BlueJays # Orioles in dispute. # Twins fell short. ¿# Atlanta in painting?

guess there's something lost in the translation there. Atlanta in waiting, maybe? Would make sense to wait for Medlen's MRI. especially if Santana prefers Atl to Toronto and Baltimore.

Going to the AL East on a one year deal might not be a wise career move.

Or perhaps it means Atlanta in picture.

I know aces are few and far between in baseball. Getting one this off season wasn't a realistic expectation. However Wren made zero attempt to add pieces to this team. They haven't hit their prime because they aren't that good. Until the Braves make changes to the personnel on this team we need to accept them for who they are. 90 wins during the regular season and a playoff exit. This will be the standard for years to come.

LOL at Niners bringing up extensions as if they have ANY effect on the payroll for 2014.
