I really liked Bowmans take that neither Shuster or Dodd make the club because they were NRI's and the team starts with a 9 man pen. Put off making a roster decision until the 5th starter is actually needed.

I understand not needing a 5th starter right out of the gate.. but will Wright be ready to be our 4th starter? Also, would either of those 2 guys be perfect long man in case a start goes south.
 
What the ****? What was the point of the spring training “competition”? Just keeping Adrianza on the roster? Grissom was excellent today on both sides of the ball and had a good spring generally, Shewmake was excellent as well.
 
The company line being towed by DOB is that we didn't want to lose Adrianza... come on guys... he's not that important.

I'm sure Adrianza will revert back to himself soon enough, but he has been outstanding this spring.

Grissom and shewmake gonna be a nice battle to watch. Guessing the alternate ss/2b.

There has to be some other angle, or combination of angles, to these decisions at SS, because I doubt they’re convinced Arcía is either the long-term or medium-term recourse.

The Anderson decision, meanwhile seems a lot more straightforward: he signed a split contract, is still building back up, and there are other guys (like Yates) to whom the team wants to give more rope, so stashing Anderson in AAA for a few weeks allows for the greatest maintenance of depth.

Adrianza played 3rd today. Wonder if that ability made him worth holding on to. Be interesting to see if Grissom or shewmake play at 3b some in AAA

You can find 10 guys as good as Adrianza on the market now just as good or better for min deals but your worried about losing him??
Also the service time game is alive and well it seems.
 
Unless there's a trade coming, this is a stunner to say the least. Option one, sure, both? Umm what.
 
He’s gotta be bummed (VG) - he had a three hit day, and then this bomb dropped on him.
Hell, I’m bummed. How’s he supposed to out-perform Dansby and make AA look like even more of a genius…. if he can’t even play?

He'll get called up when Arcia and Adrianza **** the bed. If they trade for someone, i guess it makes sense but even then...
