Spring Training Thread

Rosario's HR yesterday was offspeed inside, down I think

Please do not let actual facts get in the way of a good story.

It’s actually really simple - just ask yourself a question - would you rather Brian Snitker manage your baseball team or some guy named Enscheff ?

Once you come to your own conclusion, you’ll realize if responding to statements like that is worth your time …..
😂😂😂😂

No offense Ens- just having some fun in case it wasn’t obvious

Eh...buggy whipped is what they call it. He can do that. En's not wrong if you've looked at him all spring. He is what he is. Neither good...not horrible...in between. Snit is what he is too..for better or worse. Lmao

Rosario vs lhp...
Career: .794 ops
2022: .600 ops
2021: .778 ops
2020:.882 ops
2019: .813 ops

he certainly could be done, but I think the eye surgery is the more likely explanation. I think he rebounds and puts up a .775 or better ops vs lhp this season

It's also a contract year.

So you know he's going extra yard for one last big payday.

Wow, I am sort of surprised we are rolling our opening day lineup out on the road before they travel to DC for Thursday's game. I figured they would travel yesterday and take the next 2 days off. Guess keeping them sharp isn't a bad call.

I guess TD is our starting catcher and we traded for Murphy to be a back-up?

I don't agree with it because Murphy is by far the better catcher but it was pretty clear from the get-go that it would be 50-50, 60-40 Murphy as the starter. It should be something like 70-30, at least.

Murphy is signed long term. They know who the better player is. I think to start the team will divide time, but as the season moves along, it will be more and more Murph is he is playing well and TDA is TDA.

They showing a little respect to TDA - and Max probably more comfortable with him…..

When’s the last time we had two catchers who could actually hit on the same team? This is awesome.

Or how about one catcher that could throw someone out ?

You gotta go back to Javy for this….
Will be nice when teams are stealing like mad against everyone … and against us not so much.

I am of the opinion that with the new rules and the extra bases this creates… that being able to limit that damage will win us several extra games over the course of a season.
I’m too dumb to do the math on the expected additional bases = xyz runs =xyz games, but if we are doing better than most in this metric— that it may be more valuable than some may think - I came to this conclusion (and I’m sure everyone else already knew this - like I said, I’m not the sharpest knife) after AA made what appeared to be an odd trade. And now watching Murphy hit all spring, I’m even more excited about this.
