Stanton

That was the first time in awhile I've considered the Chen contract.

1. Geez what was the Marlins front office thinking when they started throwing around all that money they had to know they'd never be able to pay.
2. Small wonder they sold the team.

I would be more apt to that. But I have a feeling the Stankees want mlb or really close ready pitching.

I'd do Julio or Allard for him, wouldnt move Wright.

Even though Frazier hasnt done THAT good to this point.

No thanks on trading Wright. I like Frazier but I’d look to either one of Yellich (first choice), Happ, or Ozuna.

I am not sold on Frazier. I know injuries didn’t help but pitchers pretty much exposed him last year. He is not a great defender so is his bat good enough to play LF

In 134 ABs? Just make sure to remember that statement when Acuna comes up.

I'm not in any hurry whatsoever to get rid of Wright, I'm just guessing that's what it'll take - there are going to be a lot of teams in on him.

I personally can't imagine why on earth the Yankees would be interested in Julio after the shellings he took last season in a similar park. If Allard gets it done, I would hope AA would be all over it, and that he tries to expand the deal to include Headley as well.

Allard and Frazier were both 55 FV prospects as little as 4 months ago. If the Yankees want more than Allard then it shouldn't take much at all.

I didn’t say he couldn’t hit. I asked if his bat was big enough to play LF. I question that.

I'm not crazy about Frazier either. Just stating what I think it would cost. I would actually not do Frazier for Allard.

I said up thread I would be more apt to Allard. I am not sure I would like it but it would be a fair trade. I would personally rather use Allard as a package for a better LF/RF/3B personally. Clint reminds me of dPete heavy. Doubles machine but really limited to LF in bigs.

I told everybody here that the Marlins were in a bad spot and would have to give Stanton away to get to where they want to be on payroll. If you looked at the numbers and the fact that Stanton had a NT clause it was obvious.

Now, everybody's pissed because the Yankees were smart enough and aggressive enough and lucky enough (being a place Stanton would be willing to go) to get him for peanuts in talent and a minor gamble (for them) of money.

The Marlins got a guy not in the Yankees top 30 and their #9 prospect according to MLB. They also got a more powerful slower version of Dee Gordon, on a shorter deal by a year but at similar AAV. Plus they had to send a contingent $30M to get it done.

The Marlins aren't done either IMO if they are to be believed about where they want payroll to be but they will get more out of the others they move unless they move Prado.

Yankees lucked out that Stanton nixed trades to both the Giants and Cards. The Yankees would not have been in such a position otherwise.

And no way I trade Wright for Frazier. I am not that big a fan of Frazier's overall game so I'd honestly rather pass unless he cost was rather low. Considering his market, I can't imagine that's the case though.

Don't see the appeal of fraizer. Especially for Allard who has been spectacular since drafted. Plenty of better options both in the short term and long term out there.

The way to get Frazier is to take back some Yankee money such as Headley. Even the Yankees don't have unlimited funds and have needs. They want a pitcher to replace Sabathia. Trade the Yankees Teheran for Headley and Frazier then sign Sabathia or Chacin on short deals.

You've got all this young pitching. If you believe in it then moving Teheran isn't a big deal.

Start Frazier at AAA with Acuna and Swanson.

Im fine with trading for him but I'm not using one of my best assets to get him.

Not sure if the sleuths on this board can figure this out but how many 19 year olds pitched over 100 innings in AA and had a delta of 5+ between k/9 and bb/9? I doubt the list is very long.
